I have uploaded an image and published it but it will not show up in the WYSIWYG editor. I checked the FTP server and confirmed that the image is publish on the live server but I cannot get it to disply in the C1 system. The image will show up if I preview it in the asset area.

The first thing you could check is the asset type of that particular image. You would want to confirm whether it was uploaded as an “image” asset type or a “file” asset type.
An image asset will appear within the Rich Text editor only if it is of the “image” asset type. Let me know if this helps or if you have any follow-on questions.
