I’m trying to upgrade to 2.8 and the installer will not accept the admin username and password - they are still the defaults “admin/demo”

Hi Brett,

Please note that usernames are case-sensitive. If you’re using the default administrator user account in CM1, it should be entered in as “Admin” rather than “admin.” The password “demo” is all lowercase, however.

Thank you for the tip regarding the uppercase A. I didn’t expect that as the website doesn’t require it.

The installer has been sitting at the “Please wait, Percussion is being configured for your system. This may take a moment…” screen for 45 minutes. Is this normal for an upgrade? Our website and db are not huge by any means.

No, that’s not typical. Among other reasons, the installer can hang like this if the Percussion service failed to shutdown completely before you started the installation. At this point I would recommend using Task Manager (or Process Explorer) to end the installation and then make sure all “java.exe” process running out of the Percussion directory have ended. Once that’s done, go ahead and restart the installer.
