I am logged in but I have not received an email notification that I have been accepted by the moderator.

Same here. It took a few hours to get me accepted though.

I got the first verification. I followed the link. I got a message advising me that I would hear from the moderator that I could log in. This second email did not arrive although I was very quickly able to log in,.
